the engagement . . .

Last September 7 at 11:00 in the morning, we had our formal announcement of our wedding in our new home in Deca Homes Mandaue. Dwight and I decided that our wedding will be a year after our engagement so that we can have enough time to prepare and to save money.
The engagement party + house blessing was catered by Ma. Lina's Catering Services. The food was delicious and it was worth the price we paid. For the menu, we ordered 6 main courses (teriyaki beef, breaded fish fillet w/ tartar sauce, tocino cebuano, cho pa chien and lasagna) and 1 dessert (chicken macaroni salad). I also decided to prepare additional food starters like nachos w/ cheese dip, fruit cocktails served with cheese and salad dressing, gummy bears and chocolates. Also, I ordered no-bake cheese cake to compliment with the red wines and the sparkling wines given to us by our guests. For my surprise gift to Dwight, I bought a customized Mac Laptop cake with his favorite chocolate flavor at  Cookie Jar. The cake was really cute and it also taste good. However, since the cake was made of boiled icing, it wasn't able to hold the monitor screen attached to it (maybe because it was a bit heavier as I expected), that's why before the party started it already fell down and I just have to put a bottle of wine at the back of it to prevent it from totally falling down. As for the giveaways and i decided to have a beer-designed cookie in order to match with our theme "Beer-Wine themed Wedding" :)
We had videoke and lots of chitchat with our guests so the party ended up around 6:30 in the afternoon. Dwight and I were so happy and blessed that the people we expected to come on our engagement, really spent their time with us even if it was on a weekday event.
